I was reviewing some old writings today and I came across the this half written, never edited manuscript from 2016 or so. I was shocked at what I wrote and how I am still thinking in the same manner, today. Gulping aspiration coupled with selfish aspiration. I thought I would share it today…just for the hell of it…let it breathe.

Melodiless Lyrics of a Pianoless Man

Chapter 1

WWDD? WWPD? WWTWD? What would Dostoyevsky do? What would Picasso do? Most important-What would Tom Waits do? I am not even qualified to write their names on paper that I own. I want to paint like John Prine. I want to sing like Fyodor (may I call you Fyodor?). I want to pen a Picasso poem. I want to make a film of the discarded personal items of Tom Waits. I have nothing in common with Genius. I don’t live near Talent Street. And…as you can already tell…my application for concentration and focus has been denied permanently since day one.
