New Style Loading...
Oh hey…long time no rap….I’ve been busy. I hope your Labor Day was awesome. Like you…tomorrow is my first day of end of 2025.
The festivals are over. The outdoor art studio is almost entirely erased. The garden is dying not-so-slowly. I have made my last painting in the old style. The old style lasted about 5 years. dead.

Funny thing: You will see a difference, but you will still know that the paintings are my work. It’s funny how our personalities come out in our work. It’s funny how our limitations affect the product. My sensibility of what is nice; what determines a finished painting will remain.
I’m pretty sure that I am completely finished with Epoxy coatings. I’m pretty sure that I’m done (mostly) painting flat and using gravity to my advantage. I through out a ton of tools. Scrapers and melon ballers and trowels and broken sticks. I think I am done grabbing random colors. We’ll see.
Im going to begin with black and White and one other color (or two). I am mixing my own mediums. I want my work to become more sculptural. More textural. I’m most interested in texture. Why not lean into it?
I build two new easels and fixed them to the wall at a 22.5 degree angle. One is 12x8 feet, one 10x4 (long). I build a dope-ass Tableau out of a scrap table, 2x4’s and an old tool box topper (below). I trashed a couple tables that were taking up too much space. I asked my FIL to start making my frames, thereby removing the time and space dedicated to the pursuit away from my work area. I paid $9 for new constructions screws. All the other material has been repurposed.

There are six months from today until March 1. I plan on doing 12-15 art shows next year. I plan to be in Florida for the last week in February or the first weekend of March.
I’m changing how I travel too. It’s a boring subject, but I am going to lighten my load by renting my festival booths on site. Then all I have to do is pack up the paintings and some clothes (overstatement). Going on tour has been a massive undertaking in the past. A rental truck built out to carry 6 weeks worth of paintings and all the infrastructure. I’m going to try to be able to leave without any stress and work two festivals out of one little van. I mean little. No more overtly grandiose travel plans to stress out. Just leave with the art. Enjoy the drive. Sell the work.

You already know about Bento Wiz…shit, I’ve been beating you over the head with it. I do need your help with it. If you see it cross your feed or read it and find something you like, share it with someone else. I appreciate that you are here for Million Dollar Garage…but each little effort helps. Thanks in advance!

I should be ready to begin painting on Wednesday or Thursday. Hopefully I will have some interesting images to show you by Sunday.
I have yet to finalize the Studio set up. We’re just details away. The last 10% is always the most difficult.

Soon, Million Dollar Garage will be the only place in which you can see my work online. I am building a custom Gallery on this platform. There will be a separate webstore that sells items under $250.00, but the gallery here will be exclusive and require a subscription. Paid subscription members will see ALL the work available. Free subscribers will have access to paintings too, just not all of them.
I very much appreciate your support while I flail and flow through this thing I am doing. Thanks a million times over. Thanks for sharing and posting and helping me grow. This is all going somewhere worthwhile, I just don’t exactly know where yet.
Jason

I anxiously await your future!
