Regular Guys
a beer commercial of sorts
Here's to the regular guys in our lives.
Here's to the concrete man who works with his back every day to make sure his kids can travel the country to participate in high level athletics
Here's to the man that raises hell over small mistakes because he knows that it's little things compound into big problems
...and the man who gets up early the put the boat in the water, gas her up and have it ready for an all-day family excursion on Mullet Lake
Here’s to TC …who used to turtle-wax his riding lawnmower every week after mowing very straight lines in the grass
Here's to the man who disagrees with you but defends you, anyway
...and the man who knows you need help, but doesn't make you ask for it.
Here's to the man that tells you the truth when you don't want to hear it.
...and the man who asks for the same in return.
Here's to the man that keeps the main thing, the main thing.
Here’s to the man who loaned you his car for your first date
…and took you to your first ballgame, your first roller coaster ride, your first movie
Here's to that guy who loves you when you quit drinking…and continues to when you relapse and start sobriety all over again.
...and the man, that doesn't allow you to justify your bad actions based on others' bad actions.
Here's to the man who says what he means and means what he says.
Here’s to the men who dispense simple wisdom in simple ways
Here's to the man that leads with God everywhere he goes.
Here's to the man that treats your kids like his own.
...and the man who doesn't hold grudges for too long.
Here's to the man that mows the old lady's lawn next door.
Here's to the man that gets on the floor and plays with his neices and nephews
...and to grandfathers that love holding babies
Here's to the man that taught you to fish, how to throw and how to forgive
Here’s to the guy that made you hit the biggest one in the nose…and taught you how to deal with neighborhood bullies
Heres to your neighbor with the post auger, drywall screws and dump trailer
Give thanks for that uncle who saved your legal bacon when your mom died
...and the man who raised your wife.
Give your thanks for the Grandpas and Papas, the Dads and the Daddies
...for warfighters and firefighters and cops and maintenance men
…the engineers and sawmill operators and handy men
Here's to the man that taught you that you never kick a man when he's down
…and to the man that taught you to put your head down, shut up and work
Here's to the man who beat your teenage ass for calling your mom a bitch under your breath
…and discussed it with you for hours until you understood your mistake
Here's to the man that welcomes you into his home with joy
…and to the man that answers the phone on the first ring
Here's to the man that negotiates for you before he negotiates against you
Here's to the man that gives without expectation
Here's to the men that can take a compliment, and a thank you
Here’s to all the square, stand-up, straight-up, upright, uplifting men
The men that stick up for you when you're not around to defend yourself
The ones that keep this world spinning
Blessed is the man who comes in the Name of the Lord
Blessed are those who know the use of the sword, yet keep it sheathed
Blessed are you, my friends.

Here's to the guy who shares himself through art and words. Thank you.
