No, I’m not quitting. I’m just getting warmed up.

I am taking all these paintings to Milford Michigan for Milford Memories. I have a 10x20 corner booth (location details below) at Liberty and Main. I also have 150 little 16x20 paintings (150.00, 3 for 400). for the best price of the whole year.

I'm fired up for this festival…I’m going to sell well, drink fresh squeezed lemonade and eat from food trucks for three straight days. What could be better for the soul and worse for the body?

Milford is a great little town about an hour east of Detroit Metro. If you’re familiar with Novi, Wixom and Brighton…you know Milford. I love the town and the straight-shot, Americana downtown. It even has an elevated train that goes by every so often. Goes by fast, too. It feels old-school.

I don’t know if you have noticed or not, but I haven’t been writing to you for the past couple weeks. Summer is almost over and it’s time to shift gears. Lots to be done. I’ve been mulling and scheming over next steps.

The reason this show and the end of summer matters to me, reasons and seasons, is that I am changing my style, changing my commitment and changing my attitude. It’s been a tough couple years and it’s time to get back to being me.

Aggressive, successful and not so damn self-critical.

For twenty-odd Substack posts I’ve been building up to this time. A decision has been made and a milestone is about to get erected.

I’m going to tell you about all of it next week. The book (I’m Trying to Get You Fired), a new publication called Bento Wiz and a new painting style. I am going to develop this new style in front of your eyes (kinda). I’m going to tell you how my attitude is going to change regarding my business. I’m stoked. Stay tuned.

I tell you all that to tell you this:

I’m about to launch for the fall and plan for a Florida Festival trip in March of 2026. I need to create as much space as possible, literally in the studio, and figuratively in my bank account (cash creates time, to create). Most of these paintings are going to be destroyed or repurposed. Burn the boats! No going back. Get them before that happens. You’ve seen me do it before.
