Tour Stop-Plymouth
Friday
Plymouth Michigan. 1:37 pm.
The best show of the whole year…Plymouth Art in the Park starts today.
I arrived on site at 4:45 am this morning to set up my booth. I left at 7:30 to go back to the hotel, eat and wash. The booth was mostly done. I came back for the day at 9:15 to finish the set up. I survived a storm and there may be more rain in the forecast. Who cares! I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing.
I made a sale of some little paintings. Got to see a friend I played basketball with in college. It was 86 degrees but the rain knocked it down to 74. Weekend is gonna be hot, and possibly stormy. I’m going to try my best to dodge the rain drops to sell art.
Art in the Park is my favorite show because of the people. It’s not trashy but it’s not snooty either. Just hard working folks, white and blue collar, just like you and me.
The event management is awesome and kind and gives more than it takes. They’ve bailed me out of bad weather and taught me how to drive a trailer when I tried and couldn’t.
The event is today, tomorrow and Sunday. If you’re in the Detroit Metro come by.
Subscribers get discounts. I’ll try to check in later, but hopefully I’ll be too busy and rich to write more this weekend.
